AegeanDigital Tourism Tank is a research project, aiming at the digitization and creation of 3D models for the cultural organizations of North Aegean. Main goal of the project is by the end of it, each partner will have its own “digital presence”.

This procedure, beginning from the initial model until the final digital file will be done under unified procedures, so as the management of cultural digital information within these organizations to be represented and integrated in similar ways, despite their different contexts.

Additionally, AegeanDigital Tourism Tank establishes an expert-driven methodology for managing holistic and user-oriented 3D scanning, modeling and printing in order for not only enhancing the preservation of digital Heritage, but also to increase the scientific, economic and social impact of advanced services to the potential audiences of the cultural organizations of North Aegean.

The AegeanDigital Tourism Tank approach was structured in four stages:

• Selection of cultural assets for digitization,
• 3d Scanning of cultural assets,
• Design/Post-scan enhancement of digital models,
• 3d Printing of digital models). This project is a  collaboration between two laboratories Privasy Lab & Quantative Methods Laboratory (QmLab). The collaborative operators are located in Samos, Mytilene and Chios. All the proposed models will be designed and printed in both labs with the proper equipment.

By the end of the project, each partner will have the selected model both in digital file (STL file) and a 3D printed one.
